Course Outline

HARPS Standard Version 2 Implementation Training & HACCP Refresher (Add-on) – 1 Day Course

 

The course has been designed to reflect the immediate needs of producers to meet the HARPS requirements, bringing the course to life with case studies and practical examples where possible.

  • You will learn what the new elements are and how to implement these elements most efficiently.
  • The course highlights areas of focus for auditors. Special attention has been put on these elements. Be prepared for your audits.
  • The course offers detailed guidance on what best practice looks like. This is the same guidance provided to the auditors of the HARPS Standard.
  • Food safety and quality issues in the produce industry.
  • Regulations and recalls.
  • Legal requirements for food safety programs.
  • Four hazards (biological, chemical, physical, allergen) and their sources.
  • Food safety risk assessment.
  • Public Course Cost $690.00 plus GST
HACCP Refresher Add-on ($100 extra)

 

As an optional extra, you can complete your HACCP refresher as part of this course. This add-on meets the requirements of Element 4.2. Completing your refresher this way will save you $190.00 compared to the online course.

Even if you have time left before your refresher is due, take advantage of the time and money saving with this add-on and extend your due date by 3 years.

Achievements

HARPS Standard Version 2 Implementation Training

Upon successful completion of the assessment, a certificate of completion will be awarded. This is an official HARPS Certificate, issued by HARPS Australia.

HACCP Refresher Add-on ($100 extra)

The statement/ certificate of attainment will be emailed as a pdf upon successful completion of all course assessment requirements. This will take up to 28 days for the relevant units of competency to be confirmed by the assessor.

Who Should Attend

This course and the add-on are aimed at both new and existing Tier 1 and 2 growers, suppliers, packers and wholesalers. For those already on the standard, you will learn how to update to version two in the most efficient way. You will also be prepared for your next audit by knowing what the auditors will be focused on and what best practice looks like in these areas of concern. You will also be able to complete your HACCP Refresher in a time and money saving manner. For new suppliers, you will understand the HARPS standard as a whole, how to mitigate your food safety risks and what your auditors will be looking for during your first HARPS audit.

Learning Outcomes

HARPS Standard Version 2 Implementation Training

Upon completion of this training course, participants should:

  • Have a full understanding of the four hazards (biological, chemical, physical, allergen) and their sources
  • HARPS elements in practice
  • Able to identify typical food safety hazards
  • Know the required Pre-requisite Programs
  • Know what a good food safety culture looks like
  • Know the HARPS standard and the new elements
